We have been busy on the airwaves over the last month, releasing videos that bring to life all the facets of our business - from 'why we are Difrent' to our culture. One of our favourites is a Case Study for our NHS Jobs platform work.more
The Defra Future Farming and Countryside Programme is at the start of an exciting, groundbreaking, eight year project to fundamentally reform agricultural policy in England.
We are very pleased to announce that Defra has appointed Difrent to partner with them to shape their strategic approach through our Wardley Mapping service.
This will create a situation analysis, highlight opportunities for efficiency savings within the programme, and identify strategic high-value opportunities.
On 1 January 2021, we will be exiting the EU Common Agricultural Policy, the main provider of farming subsidies since 1962. To ensure that farmers and land managers continue to provide high-quality food, whilst enhancing and protecting the countryside, Defra will innovate and refine a stand alone agricultural policy; ensuring that farming is future-proof and sustainable.
The overarching aims of this change programme are to enable the creation of a more dynamic, self-reliant agriculture industry: in which British farmers, growers, land managers and foresters play a vital role in protecting the countryside, while providing world class food, plants and trees.
“Difrent’s Wardley Mapping is taking the whole team together on a journey into the strategic constraints and opportunities we face around people, technology, data, and operational delivery for our programme” said Janet Hughes, Programme Director, Future Farming and Countryside at Defra.
“This partnership will help us map out what we have, what we are going to need, and what needs to change, improve or stay the same,” Janet added.
“It is terrific to be on the ground right from the start of this work to help Defra make effective decisions and define the goals and outcomes of this programme,”
said Dan Leakey, Business Change Director, Difrent. “At the heart of our Wardley Mapping with partners is teaching their teams to map first, then we map with them, not for them. We always encourage original thinking in an open collaborative environment and everything that our experts learn is shared.”
Some of the other clients that we have strategically mapped alongside are:
NHS Business Services Authority, Government Digital Services, The Department of Health and Social Care, The Department for Work & Pensions, NHSX, The British Psychological Society, Police ICT, Nursing & Midwifery Council and Ministry of Justice.
