What’s your background?
I initially trained in Finance and started out working for a children’s charity in the Treasury Department. Once my children were a little older and both school age, I started my own business as a caterer, I opened a café which drew on my finance skills and then won a contract within a London Transport company running two kitchens for their staff. This experience gave me great all round knowledge of running a business and also having a team working for me gained me my leadership skills. After this, I moved over to the Events industry and worked for a Health and Safety company as the Operations Coordinator.
Describe your role at Difrent
As the Operations Coordinator at Difrent, I am involved in the Finance, Payroll, onboarding and offboarding processes. As part of the back-office team I’m involved in making the operational side run as smoothly as possible, and we are always on hand to troubleshoot and help out where needed.
Who are you outside of Difrent?
Outside of Difrent, I love to bake, trying out different ideas in the kitchen and new flavour combinations, but making birthday cakes is my main hobby - check my Instagram page ;-). I love music and love going to concerts, my partner and I aim to get to a gig once a month. I also love spending weekends visiting new places all over the country, meeting people, and generally enjoying life!
Who would you invite to dinner, dead or alive?
Dave Grohl – Just to see the look on my partners face! I can assure you I am not usually this soppy, but Dave is his idol, so just to make him that happy would really make me smile.
