What’s your background?
Project - Programme - Business Change - Head of IT - IT Director - CIO and then into Digital Delivery roles. I desperately wanted the Director title, then I wanted to be a CIO on a Board; having done them both, I realised what I actually loved was delivery, at all costs! Boatloads of experience across Big 4 (worked for them all), public and private.

Describe your role at Difrent.
It’s my 1st perm role, that's huge for me with my issues on commitment! It’s a lifetime dream (although, there are days where that doesn't quite feel real). I developed the strategy for Difrent & will be responsible for implementing it; sales & marketing sit within my areas of responsibilities as does overseeing delivery & growth areas. For me; it will always be about our people, I just fucking love them!

Who are you outside of Difrent?
Outside of work; I'm a step-parent to 3 kids, 2 girls who have their own kids & my girlfriend Yvonne's lad. Who said family life was straight forward eh! Time is the most important for me; spending time with family, friends, travelling & reading I love & I still have a lot of young energy so things like paddle boarding, kick boxing, abseiling, zip wires are all regular weekend activities!

Who would you invite to dinner, dead or alive?
Ah the infamous over for the dinner question; I would have to have Hitler, purely to see whether he was as charismatic as I assume or whether external influence created the space for him and frankly that tach needs shaving off and Scarlett O'Hara, nothing like a strong female lead from my favourite book of all time!

Why BeDifrent?

We were asked recently on Twitter why are we called BeDifrent and typically I did an off the cuff response. It got Jo thinking, and she asked Steve and me to pen a blog explaining why we wanted to call our business Difrent.

Boss Babies On Board

Having always been an interim and having never been through a ‘proper’ onboarding process in any organisation I had surprisingly strong views about how we would approach this with our new graduate hires.
