I have been working to take the best from my background into the ever-evolving tech sector.more
What’s your background?
A project background, I started my career at Hewlett Packard and got a taste of many different project environments. Working on projects for LBS, DWP and MoD I was continuously absorbing knowledge. I then by chance became a ‘veteran’ amongst my account and project team, after just 2 years and an aggressive team change I was the longest standing member of the project team. I became a source of knowledge around any and all governance on the account.
Describe your role at Difrent
A completely ‘Difrent’ world than to what I’m used to. I’d say a smaller company, but I use those words extremely lightly, there is clear commitment and a sense of value here. A real excitement is in the air, and this just seemed absent from my experience of the industry. I have joined something a lot bigger than I could have imagined, as Project Support, supporting the management of the project team on the NHS Jobs programme.
Who are you outside of Difrent?
I’m full of curiosity and have a super exciting home life, full of documentaries, educational podcasts and online lectures. Fortunately, the only good book I could ever get into was a textbook, so no wasting my time on a boring novel. On the other hand, I never shy away from new experiences no matter how extreme. I tend to have little regard for my own wellbeing if it rewards me with a cool story or an undeniable thrill.
Who would you invite to dinner, dead or alive?
My invitation would go to Adam Smith, just because it would be purely fascinating and I’d like to think I’d be able to maintain a striking conversation with him 😝. I’d love to talk to him about the psychology of ethics and the ‘moral sphere’.
As an early adopter of social media personally I found this blog easier to write than some others in this series!more
